SMPS Annual Symposium: Panel on Change

SMPS brings together marketing and business development professionals each year for networking and learning related to the industry and their roles. This year the theme for the symposium is PIVOT, acknowledging the intense amount of change impacting our professions now and coming. 

After the keynote session and following key updates on procurement, a panel discussion will shed light on how individuals and organizations can navigate, respond to, and commence change programs. Each speaker brings unique perspectives and experiences to support attendees consider and manage change from the macro context to human level. 

Expert Speakers include:

Sybil Allen, PhD, MSW, RSW a therapist and corporate trainer as CEO of The Human Factor, with more than 30 years’ experience leading organizations through change with deep consideration for the people involved and impacted. She embeds empathy in her expert approach to supporting clients, including many in the AEC sector. 

Cynthia Damar-Schnobb, a business leader and founder of experiential graphic design and wayfinding firm Artellix which she established recently with over 25 years’ award-winning experience. She has contributed leadership to local and national organizations that support industrial designers and graphic designers. 

Ian Chodikoff is a strategist and communications professional keeping the pulse of industry changes that impact business, the construction sector, and the industry’s broader impact on society. He is an Architect, former editor of Canadian Architect Magazine and former Executive Director of the RAIC. 

The panel will be moderated by Russell Pollard, MBA. Russell is a Past-President of SMPS Ontario and founder of Framework Leadership, where he supports individuals and firms with workplace culture, leadership and inclusion.
